The VP9 and P30 both feature a nimble slide stop/release, along with the traditional paddle mag version. They don't have the left-hand variation of the American-style magazine release. Fear not, because the paddle release is easy to use for both right-handed and left-handed shooters. The decoder on the P30 models is on the back left side of the slide. This can be difficult for left-handed people, but with practice, it is possible to become proficient in the operation of the decoder.

FN has always understood that their pistols should be usable by both left and right shooters. Some of their most famous models like the 5.7 and FNX-45 Tactical models are 100% fun. Their new striker fired revolver, the .509, is also pretty fishy. With the 509 Tactical, shooters have the option of a solid optic-ready pistol that's easy to use for either the right or left hand.

Being a left-handed pitcher is much easier in today's market than in years past. There are many fun models on the market today. This change has made the left-hander not as difficult as it was ten years ago. One thing to keep in mind is the ability to shoot with both hands if needed. I've had the honor of speaking with some amazing left-handed shooters. I've learned that most left-handed shooters try to adapt and shoot right-handed, even if it doesn't always feel natural.

Amend2 Glock Magazine Review - When I first saw the Amend 2 magazine in the Glock 17, I was intrigued. It was covered by a lot of people at the 2018 Shot Show where it debuted. The red tracer drew my eyes to the top of the magazine while the large base plate screamed for my attention. The rear view windows begged to be loaded. I had never used Amend 2 magazines before purchasing this magazine. I had seen them at gun shows, a picture or two of them on Instagram, but no one I knew actually used them. When I found out that the Amend 2 Glock 17 had 18 rounds of 9mm in the magazine for under $20, I decided to pick one up. I order the magazine directly from the Amend 2 website.

When I received the magazine, it was well packaged in a transparent bag with printed logos, information about the magazine and their mission. The magazine also came with a nice Amend 2 sticker to place their logo wherever you want. While holding the magazine, I noticed that the polymer felt light, yet durable. The red follower fell smoothly and the spring lifted the follower up without hesitation. The rear sight windows are clearly marked and the large base seemed sturdy.

When I introduced the magazine to the product range, I did some drop tests. I dropped the magazine from different heights and on different surfaces. The magazine did well when dropped and thrown into the air. Throwing the magazine against the blue barrel only loosened the base plate slightly. After sliding the base plate back onto the magazine, it never failed. The fully loaded magazine didn't miss a single round as it launched and landed. One test I was excited about was how the free magazine would drop out of my Glock 17. For a large base base, my expectations were high. The magazine came out smoothly when I pressed the magazine release. Rapid shooting was not a problem, the magazine fed my rounds easily. The magazine lock slide was reliable and the red tracer gave you a visual indication that your gun needed more clearance.

The Amend2 Glock Magazine: A New Contender

Overall, the magazine looks like a valuable option for Glock 17/19 owners. For $13.99 you get an 18 round magazine with a large base plate and viewing ports on the back of the magazine. I think this magazine is useful for those who want to get the most out of them and do not compromise on quality. I highly recommend these magazines and will continue to try them.

This is the most common phrase you see after introducing a new gun in a pistol caliber. It's gotten to the point where it's just an old meme. I might get bored reading this in the comments, but I understand where they are coming from. Today, Glock magazines are used in a variety of guns other than Glock pistols, so it's no surprise that the aftermarket has taken notice. Amend2 now manufactures a variety of Glock magazines. This includes the A2-17, for the Glock 17 I have here. They also have models for Glock models 19, 22, 23, 42 and 43. The capacities vary and the G17 variant has an 18 9mm round. The Amend2 Glock magazine is noticeably lighter than traditional Glock magazines. It does not have the metal inserts of the OEM Glock magazines and feels very light. Not only does the magazine hold an extra round, but it has a very large base plate, which is nice with two large clips holding it all together. It has holes for each round and a bright red follower.

The weight made me think that the magazine felt cheap and did not give high hopes. The baseplate is attractive because in my experience it makes getting the magazines out of the bag easier. The witness holes were also impressive. The Amend2 Glock magazine takes a page from Magpul's Glock school of thought and has a strong following.

Although the follower is red and not bright orange. Light trackers are great for knowing when your magazine is empty or about to empty in low light. When you stop, pull out the mag to check how much ammo you have left, the bright red tracer is easily visible through the witness holes in the back.

The magazine is also cut for a Gen 4 style reversible magazine, but not for the ambi issue. The magazine will of course work with any generation of Glock, as well as the Polymer 80 lower 80 Glock. Inside the magazine, the spring is strong and is attached to both the follower plate and the lock plate. The locking plate is the two big red ones that are easy to push for disassembly and are durable enough not to break.

The Amend2 Glock magazine loads easily enough and loading 18 rounds into the magazine is not difficult. The magazine is also loaded into the pistol with the slide closed when fully loaded. The only way I know how to test a magazine is to load it, shoot it, and keep going. So I did it.

I shot a variety of ammo. The ammo that kills the most mages seems to be Winchester Steel. Circles often hang up. In this case, the Amend2 Glock magazine ate 50 rounds without issue. I went through another 150 rounds with regular brass cased ammo. Sometimes I loaded the magazine full, other times I loaded just a few rounds to practice again.

I live on a sand hill and I just love letting the magic fall into that beautiful sugar sand. Again I dropped the magazine, pulled it up and did it again. Sand has never caused a magazine failure. Also, the mag will freely drop completely empty.

Putting it in the holder showed how awesome the base plate is for quick reloads. It's wide, easy to grip, and reduces the likelihood of bad grips and butterflies with the magazine.

As I said before, the magazine feels light and I often associate light with low quality. However, this is not always the case. I did a couple of drop tests with the salvo loaded and unloaded from waist and head height on concrete, wood and gravel. We shot it from the gun and from different angles. A fully loaded Amend2 Glock magazine spits out a round or two when unloaded. Once you got to lap 15, the event seemed to stop.

After dropping it and throwing it against a plastic fruit box a few times, I loaded it and started shooting again. Fortunately, the magazine never went bankrupt. The Amend2 Glock magazine never stuttered and fed a round over and over again. There is no visible damage on the outside either. Disassembly is easy and I had no problem getting sand out of the magazine housing.

MSRP for these magazines is $16.99, but I bought mine locally for 11 bucks. 11 bucks for a magazine that performs like this is a steal. I have only tested one magazine and would like to test them more before declaring them suitable for concealed carry or work. However, I wholeheartedly recommend it for competitions and training. I don't see any issues at this point, but the recommendation for duty or concealed carry needs a little more testing with a few more magazines.
